Jennifer Curtis
Jennifer Curtis is Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions. In this capacity, she is responsible for all legal activities and issues for the company in its execution of its Savannah River Site management and operations contract. Ms. Curtis has been advising corporate managers on a broad array of legal issues since 1980. She holds a BA in Political Science from Stanford University and a Juris Doctor from Columbia University.

Seneca M. Johnson
Seneca N. Johnson is the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Manager for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). She received her B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina-Columbia and her Greenbelt Six Sigma Certification from Villanova University.

Seneca started establishing her career fifteen years ago. She began her experience in manufacturing. She worked in various roles at Milliken and Shaw Industries Group, Inc., the- Aiken Facility. About four years ago, she transitioned to the nuclear industry. Her career path has allowed her to gain experience in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Maintenance Management, and Lean Manufacturing.

As an employee at the Savannah River Nuclear Site, Seneca has taken on additional roles with various leadership organizations. She serves on the Aspiring Mid-Career Professionals (AMP) Organization Steering Committee and as a Toastmaster. She has volunteered her time in the role of Chair and Co-Chair for the SRS Toys for Tots Campaign. She has served on the SRS United Way Campaign in the lead role for the Technical Services Organization and for the Site Services Organization. She also served on the Savannah River Solutions Women In Nuclear (SRS-WIN) Steering Committee.

During her time in Aiken, Seneca has been an active member at the Friendship Baptist Church. She currently serves on the Black History Planning Committee for Friendship. She served on the Hospitality Committee, the Women’s Ministry, and as the Director of the John Phillips Choir for Friendship Baptist Church. She also served as a team member for the Aiken Intermediate School Focus Team Planning Project.

Willie Bell
Willie Bell earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC in 1975. Throughout his 23 year career at SRS, Willie has worked in multiple human resource capacities including staffing, HR operations and Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity. Willie has a diversity of experience while working in positions of increasing responsibility at SRS and other industries.
With regard to his current assignment, Willie has more than 30 years of proven management, leadership and technical expertise in EEO compliance, affirmative action planning and other areas of human resources.

 

As the EEO/Diversity Manager, Willie serves in an advisory capacity to site management to ensure that SRNS employment activities comply with anti-discrimination laws and equal employment opportunity is afforded to all qualified applicants and employees through implementation and execution of SRNS employment policies, procedures and practices.

Willie is also responsible for managing the site’s affirmative action program and providing strategic planning/program management of the diversity leadership initiative. Additional responsibilities include providing counsel to employees on potential discrimination/harassment concerns, investigating complaints of discrimination/harassment, interfacing with external agencies, and increasing employee awareness on EEO and diversity related topics.

Paul Bush

Board Member

Paul H. Bush is an Aiken, SC native. He is the senior pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jackson, SC. He is a member of the Zion Fair Missionary Baptist Church of New Ellenton, SC. Rev Bush is a graduate of Aiken High School. He has an MA in Christian Psychology and a BA in Divinity from Jacksonville Theological Seminary; a Certificate in “The School of The Prophets” from Lahairoi Bible College in Augusta, GA; an Associate Degree in Theology from Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, Ga. and an Associate Degree in Human Services with Certificates in Criminal Justice & Alcohol and Drug Abuse from Aiken Technical College in Aiken, S.C. He is currently president of the Concerned Ministers Fellowship of Aiken, Aiken County Board member, NAACP Silver Life member. a member of South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus, a member of the African American Ministers Leadership Council, and the 2019 President Chair Elect for the Aiken Chamber of Commerce Executive Board.

Athena Freeman

Board Member

Athena grew up in Laurinburg, NC where she graduated from Scotland High School.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from South Carolina State University. Shortly after graduation, she became employed at Savannah River Site where she retired in 2005 after 25 years of service in Radiological Control Operations.

 

She obtained a Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology and began working with Aiken Technical College in 2006 as an Adjunct Instructor, which led to full time employment in 2007 with the Training & Business Development Department (TBDD).  Athena’s current position is Operations Manager where her overall duties include management and execution of all TBDD training programs.  She is skilled in analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation and instruction of training programs.

 

She attends Friendship Baptist Church, Richland Avenue, Aiken, where she is a member of the Women’s Ministry, A.B. Miles Voices of Praise Choir and chair for the Black History Program. Athena is also a life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is married to Johnny W. Freeman and they have four children and one granddaughter.

Cody Kriegsman

Board Member

Mr. Kriegsman is a recent transplant from New Jersey, and has made Aiken his new home. He fell in love with History as his major at the University of Miami with a focus on Colonial Caribbean and South American History, and went on to achieve his Ed. M in Social Studies Education from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education in New Brunswick. After attaining his graduate degree, Mr. Kriegsman began his career working with an educational community based organization in New York City, where he was an administrator and Site Director for multiple free after school programs for public middle school students. Since then, he has moved down to Aiken to be closer to family, and has taken a job teaching Social Studies at Williston-Elko High School. When he is not actively teaching or helping out with the CAAHAC, you can find Mr. Kriegsman with his dog, Link, avidly supporting his Miami Hurricanes, cooking, and enjoying his yard and the great outdoors!

Dr. Forest Mahan

Board Member

Dr. Forest Mahan is native of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.  Dr. Mahan has lived in Aiken for five years and relocated to the area to serve as President of Aiken Technical College.  Dr. Mahan began his career as a history instructor at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College and taught African-American history.  In addition to CAAHAC, he is involved in a number of community organizations – including the Rotary Club of Aiken, Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce, Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness, and the United Way.  In his role, Dr. Mahan seeks to be engaged with the community in order to better serve the needs of community stakeholders and help local citizens improve their lives through the successful attainment of a work-ready credential.
