The Center for African American History, Art & Culture (CAAHAC) and the City of Aiken will host the annual Juneteenth celebration at CAAHAC and Founders Park, located at 120 York Street, NE, Aiken, SC 2980 on June 21, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm.

Juneteenth is a significant day in American history, marking the end of slavery. It commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of slavery, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s a time to reflect on the struggles of African Americans for freedom and equality and celebrate their resilience and achievements.

Memorable moments will take place during this year’s Juneteenth event, including live performances, a line dancing segment, historian-led tours, and a host of delectable food to choose from.

Please come out to this FREE event and celebrate the spirit of liberation, advancement, and persistence.

We hope to see you there!
