The mission of the Center for African American History, Art and Culture is to preserve the historic Immanuel Institute and serve as an educational resource through engaging, interactive programs that inform, inspire, and celebrate Aiken’s diversity and strong sense of community. The Center highlights the many contributions of African Americans in Aiken County, throughout South Carolina, and across the nation.
